CARENCRO, La. (KLFY) — Chantz Babineaux, the team’s standout player, has been named Athlete of the Week following his impressive performance in Carencro’s latest victory.
The Carencro Golden Bears have a 2-2 record this season, but they remain undefeated in district 3-5A play with a 1-0 record.
Gavin Peters, associated with the Carencro team, highlighted Babineaux’s versatility.
“Primarily be playing you know receiver on all fans both outside and inside and defensively. He’ll play some corners from safety some overhang you know depending upon where we need him at.” Peters said. “So we’re actually kind of able to put him back in a position that we had him with as a freshman.”
