Arkansas State Police arrest former jail captain for alleged sexual assault

SEARCY, Ark. – Officials with the Arkansas State Police said investigators have arrested the former captain of the Little River County Jail.

Officials said 53-year-old Kenneth Lee Vaughn was arrested Sept. 30 as a result of a felony sexual assault investigation. Officials said agents with the ASP’s Criminal Investigation Division believe Vaughn had sexual contact with a Little River County inmate.

According to investigators, the contact occurred while the inmate was being transported through White County to an Arkansas Department of Corrections facility, officials said.

Court records indicate that an arrest warrant was issued for Vaughn on Sept. 18.
