Rockford firefighters tackle fire at McDonald’s, cause remains unknown

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Investigators are looking into the cause of an exterior fire at a Rockford McDonald’s restaurant on Tuesday night.

According to the Rockford Fire Department, firefighters were called to the McDonald’s at 1441 Kishwaukee Street at 5:15 p.m. and found the fire had spread inside the exterior wall, causing smoke to accumulate inside the building.

Firefighters had to open the wall to extinguish the fire.

No one was injured in the event and the official cause of the fire is listed as “undetermined.”

The fire caused an estimated $10,000 in damages to the building.
