Multiple people rescued from burning home in Rockford
Around 5 a.m., Rockford Fire was called to the 1100 block of North Avenue for reports that a two-story home was on fire and residents were trapped inside.
Several people were rescued from a porch roof using a ladder, according to firefighters.
Of the victims, five people were taken to a local hospital for treatment with non-life-threatening injuries.
Firefighters were able to get the blaze under control after 20 minutes.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
