NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry and Allstate Sugar Bowl officials announced on Wednesday, Oct. 1, that New Orleans will host the 2028 College Football Playoff National Championship.
The game will take place on Jan. 24, 2028. It is the second time New Orleans will host the game since the College Football Playoff’s inception.
New Orleans hosted the College Football Playoff National Championship in 2020, when LSU beat Clemson.
