Almost 4,500 without power amid outages in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Almost 4,500 customers of Rocky Mountain Power are without power Wednesday morning.

According to Rocky Mountain Power, multiple outages began just after 10:30 a.m. Crews say the outages are affecting parts of Salt Lake City including the Avenues and the Marmalade district.

Parts of downtown Salt Lake City may be affected as well.

The cause of the outages is still under investigation. Crews expect power to be restored to the area before 5 p.m.

Planned maintenance is scheduled to be taking place as early as 9:30 a.m. that is expected to cause an outage for over 50 customers. However, Rocky Mountain Power has not confirmed whether or not the outages are connected.
