Video: Landfill engulfs in flames overnight, thermal drone locates fire
Reports from CFD state that just after 1 a.m. on Sept. 28, 2025, crews from Caddo Fire District 4 Station 2 discovered smoke in the area and deployed a thermal imaging drone to detect the source.
The drone indicated flames were coming from the Woolworth Road Landfill located on 10580 Woolworth Road in Keithsville.
Due to the size of the fire, Caddo Fire Districts 3 and 6 also were dispatched, arriving to find several acres of landfill material actively burning.
Caddo Fire District 4 sent KTAL a video showing just how devastating the flames were.
Firefighters worked for several hours to contain the fire using heavy machinery to assist with extinguishing efforts.
CFD crews remained on scene until the situation was safe and under control.
Landfill staff will continue to closely monitor conditions.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
