Teen arrested for negligent gunfire in South Bay
San Jose Police Department detectives began to investigate the boy, who was not identified due to his age, after receiving a report on March 4 of an incident that occurred on Feb. 23. The reporting party told officers that there had been an disturbance near the 3600 block of Gurdwara Avenue between a group of boys which led to the negligent discharge of a firearm, SJPD said.
Authorities learned through their investigation that the suspect was also responsible for other negligent shootings. One of the incidents of negligent gunfire occurred near a school in Milpitas, according to SJPD.
“The suspect was also found to be involved in illegal firearms trafficking,” San Jose police said.
Authorities arrested the boy at his residence in Milpitas on Sept. 25. He was booked into the Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall for firearm-related offenses, including discharging firearms within a thousand feet of a school.
