Original Joe’s in Walnut Creek held its grand opening on Aug. 14 but was forced to shut down days later
The fire happened inside the restaurant’s kitchen overnight on Monday, Aug. 18. There were no injuries, according to Original Joe’s.

Original Joe’s in Walnut Creek is opening from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday.

Since Original Joe’s first opened in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood in 1937, it has become one of the staple restaurants in the city. Owned by the Duggan family, Original Joe’s currently has two other locations open in Daly City’s Westlake neighborhood and San Francisco’s North Beach at 601 Union St.
