Louisiana R&B singer to perform national anthem at 52nd Bayou Classic
BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Louisiana native national recording artist Justin Garner was announced as a performer for the 52nd Bayou Classic in New Orleans.

Garner is expected to perform the national anthem at the matchup between Southern University and Grambling State University on Saturday, Nov. 29, at the Caesars Superdome.

The Plaquemine native has performed the national anthem at several major sporting events, including for the New Orleans Saints,

Kansas City Chiefs, Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs, and San Francisco Giants.

He was previously recognized as an Artist on the Rise by Amazon Music. He also shared the Essence Fest stage with artists like Janet Jackson, Nicki Minaj, and New Edition.

“Bringing [Justin] Garner home to perform at Bayou Classic is a celebration of Louisiana talent on one of the biggest stages in HBCU sports and culture,” said Dottie Belletto, president and CEO of New Orleans Convention Company, Inc. (NOCCI), the event management firm for the Bayou Classic. “His voice and story represent the excellence and perseverance we celebrate each year.”

Garner has been releasing music since 2014, according to Apple Music. He has 8.6K subscribers on YouTube, 33.8K followers on Instagram, 3.4K followers on X, and 15K listeners on Spotify. He also has a concert coming up in New Orleans at the Jaxson on the River venue on May 30, 2026.
