There is a team option for the 2026-27 season, giving the two sides the ability to negotiate a new deal after this upcoming season. According to Shams Charania, the Warriors increased their initial contract offer by $8 million to the 22-year-old Kuminga.
Contract negotiations have been ongoing since the summer. ESPN reports that Kuminga turned down a three-year, $75 million deal to “maintain a higher level of control over his immediate future.”
Kuminga was drafted No. 7 overall by the Warriors in 2021. He averaged 15.3 points on 45 percent shooting in 47 games (10 starts) last year.
The contract agreement comes after the Warriors reportedly reached an agreement to sign veteran center Al Horford.
