FBI spotted in east Topeka neighborhood on Monday

TOPEKA (KSNT) – Federal agents and local law enforcement visited a house in east Topeka on Monday, but details are scarce as to why they were there.

evidence response team personnel and officers with the Lawrence Police Department were present at the scene.

27 News reached out to the FBI offices in Kansas City to learn more about the situation. FBI spokesman Dixon Land responded but could offer little information as to why agents were in the east Topeka neighborhood.

“I can confirm the FBI had a lawful presence in the area in an ongoing matter,” Land said. “I can’t provide any other details at this time.”

FBI agents have appeared at other locations in Topeka this year. Federal agents were seen at a local post office investigating a hazardous situation on July 25 and raided a strip club on June 6.
