The Miller family shared a joint statement with ABC4 with the hope their story can help those struggling, especially young teens.
Miller Family Statement
We are heartbroken over the loss of our beloved son, brother, cousin, nephew, grandson and friend.
We want every teen to know: it’s okay to struggle, it’s okay to not be perfect, and it’s okay to talk about hard things. There are always people—family, friends, teachers, church leaders—who would do anything to help, listen, and support you. If you are hurting, please reach out. You are enough and you are loved more than you realize.
The loss leaves a hole in our hearts that only time and our Savior can truly heal. But we believe that by serving others and lifting those around us, our hearts can grow, and the ache of that hole can begin to feel smaller.
For those who have asked how they can help, a GoFundMe has been set up to “not just to cover practical needs — but to give people who loved the boy a tangible way to gather and say, “I remember you. I love you. I miss you.”
If you or someone you love is struggling, please call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Help is available 24/7.
