IMPD officer hospitalized after crash on northwest side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS — An officer with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was involved in a car crash on Tuesday night.

Public emergency reporting systems indicate a “personal injury” crash occurred near the intersection of West 46th Street and North High School Road around 6:30 p.m.

FOX59/CBS4 sent a crew to the scene, where police confirmed an IMPD officer was involved in a crash. IMPD also reported that the officer was hospitalized after the crash.

In addition to the IMPD officer, one other individual involved in the crash was hospitalized. Police indicated that the IMPD officer and the other party involved in the crash are both currently in stable condition.

It is unclear exactly how many vehicles were involved in the crash. As of this article’s publication, no additional information on the crash or the circumstances that led to it had been made available.
