BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Deputies arrested a Baton Rouge man accused of stealing a trailer with $60,000 worth of product from the Pepsi warehouse in Livingston.

Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard said the trailer was stolen earlier in September. Detectives tracked the suspect’s tractor, which was used to haul the trailer, to an address in East Baton Rouge Parish.

Darrell Cager, 53, was identified as the theft suspect. He was taken into custody by the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office and then transported to the jail in Livingston Parish to be booked on a felony theft charge.

According to Ard, the stolen trailer was found abandoned, and the $60,000 worth of merchandise was missing.

An investigation is ongoing.
