Rockford to host largest girls’ baseball tournament in 2026

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — The City of Rockford will host the largest girls’ baseball tournament in 2026.

The Baseball for All Nationals will be held July 19-25, during the same week as the WBSC Women’s Baseball World Cup group stage event.

Both events will be held at Rivet’s Stadium in Loves Park and welcome girls ages 6 to 18.

Baseball for All Nationals will welcome an estimated 800 players and coaches from across the U.S., Canada, Australia, and beyond.

“We’re thrilled to bring Baseball For All Nationals back to Rockford and celebrate three generations of baseball players: the girls playing at BFA Nationals, the players competing at the WBSC World Cup Qualifiers, and the women from the AAGPBL who paved the way for us all. This unique opportunity allows our players to compete and be inspired by the best women in the world, reminding them that baseball is truly a game for everyone,” said Baseball for All founder Justine Siegal, PhD.

“Rockford is honored to host three extraordinary events focused on women’s and girls’ baseball. From welcoming young athletes chasing their dreams to celebrating international players at the highest level, this week will showcase the rich history and bright future of the sport,” said Rockford Mayor Tom McNamara.

The Women’s Baseball World Cup has only been held in the United States once before. That was in South Florida in 2018.

Next year’s Group Stage event will bring in 150 players from around the world, along with 50 to 60 managers and coaches. Rockford University officials have agreed to open their dorms for the athletes and coaches to stay in.

The top teams from this qualifier will advance to the World Cup Finals in 2027, which also could potentially be held in Rockford.

Along with the two events, the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League Players Association will hold a 2026 reunion in Rockford from July 22-26.

The hope is that this World Cup event will enhance the fundraising efforts for the International Women’s Baseball Museum in Rockford, next to Beyer Stadium, the former home of the Rockford Peaches.
