Rockford police car hit by DUI driver, officer injured

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A Rockford Police squad car was struck by another vehicle that was exiting onto S. Alpine Road from the U.S. 20 bypass.

The officer was hospitalized for minor injuries caused in the crash, police said.

Two occupants of the offending vehicle, including the driver, Tracey McLin, 38, were also taken to the hospital.

McLin faces charges of driving under the influence of drugs and possession of cannabis.
