Sheriff’s detectives said the juvenile was taken into custody Monday, September 29, in connection with a threat made against Pineville High School and has been booked into the Renaissance Home for Youth on a charge of terrorizing. Investigators later determined that the specific threat was non-credible, but they emphasized that the broader investigation remains active as they work to uncover additional evidence.
The arrest follows a series of online threats directed at Peabody High School, Alexandria High School, and Pineville High School over the weekend. Those threats prompted law enforcement and city officials to cancel Peabody’s homecoming parade Saturday morning out of an abundance of caution, citing “credible and immediate threats” to public safety.
Authorities say the investigation into the other threats is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact the RPSO Criminal Investigation Division at (318) 473-6727, the Main Office at (318) 473-6700, or Crime Stoppers at (318) 443-7867.
