Man driving a Grand Marquis leads police on a high speed chase before crashing

TEXARKANA, Ar. (KTAL/KMSS) – The Texarkana, Arkansas, Police Department picked up a pursuit of a speeding Grand Marquis that police say violated many road rules before ultimately crashing.

On Thursday, September 25, 2025, around 4 p.m., officers from the Texarkana, Arkansas Police Department (TAPD) were notified by the Texarkana, Texas Police Department (TTPD) of a high-speed pursuit involving a gold Mercury Grand Marquis that had entered Arkansas near North State Line Avenue.

The pursuit continued through multiple city streets in Arkansas with TAPD officers joining the chase.

As police trailed, the vehicle sped past a school bus with its red stop sign lights engaged and also ran through multiple intersections without slowing.

Police say the driver reached speeds of more than 25 miles per hour over the posted speed limit before crashing into a SWEPCO utility pole on E. 31st Street.

The driver then hopped out and attempted to flee on foot but was taken down by officers.

Police believe the driver, later identified as Anthony Epps, fled due to an warrant from the Conway, Arkansas, Police Department for failure to appear.

Epps was arrested and charged with felony fleeing and misdemeanor fleeing on foot.

He was transported to St. Michael’s South for evaluation following the crash and then booked into Miller County Jail.
