Man, 33, shot and killed in Douglass Park overnight, Chicago police say

CHICAGO — A 33-year-old man was shot and killed overnight in Douglass Park on the city’s Southwest Side, according to Chicago police.

Police say the man was standing outside next to his car in the 1200 block of South Farrar Drive around 12:30 a.m. Sunday when he heard gunshots from an unknown direction.

The man was shot five times in the body, according to police, and was taken to an area hospital in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead.

Police say there is no description of an offender, and nobody is in custody. Area detectives are investigating.
