While searching for Rasson Smith, Jr., at a location he was believed to be, SPD encountered Smith’s father, Rasson Smith, Sr., and arrested him for having three firearms, which he was prohibited from having because he had prior felony convictions, including domestic violence.
Shreveport police are still searching for Rasson Smith, Jr., they said. Smith is a suspected gang member and is considered armed and dangerous. Based on multiple sources of information, detectives believe he has no hesitation in using a firearm. Locating him is a critical step in bringing resolution to this violent event.
