According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, around 11:31 a.m. on Sunday, police responded to a report of a person shot in the 5000 block of Southeastern Avenue. When they arrived, they could not find anyone.
Later in the day, police were called to Community East Hospital on a report of a walk-in person shot.
Once police arrived, they discovered a man with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The officers who responded to Southeastern Avenue believe to have located a crime scene.
The investigation remains ongoing and active.
