The Lopers would open up the scoring early with a 19-yard rushing touchdown to make it 7-0.
Wide receiver Chase Allen-Jackman would pick up where he left off last weekend, with an 8-yard touchdown reception from Justin Lewis to tie things up, 7-7.
Nebraska-Kearney would respond a few drives later with a 3-yard rush to retake the lead.
But Lewis would find Allen-Jackman again for his second touchdown of the game, this time a 32-yard reception. The game is tied 14-14 at the end of the first.
Neither team scored in the second leaving the teams tied at the half.
The Lopers would get on the board first in the third with a 47-yard field goal to extend their lead to 17-14.
The ‘Bods would close out the second with a 50-yard field goal from Aidan Battle and a 5-yard touchdown pass from Keller Hurla to Aden Canty. Washburn leads 24-17 at the end of the third.
Nebraska-Kearney was firing on all cylinders in the fourth, with a 62-yard touchdown pass in the quarter’s first seconds to tie the game, 24-24.
The Lopers would score again with a 3-yard rush to retake the lead, 31-24. Washburn was unable to respond in fourth.
The ‘Bods have a bye next weekend, before heading out to Pittsburg State to take on the Gorillas on Oct. 11.
