The ‘Bods will be back home for ‘Family Day’ for the first time in three weeks.
Junior wide receiver Chase Allen-Jackman recorded an 8-yard rushing touchdown and an 85-yard touchdown reception in last Saturday’s loss to Central Oklahoma. Despite his individual success, Allen-Jackman and head coach Zach Watkins are focused on getting back to their game against another conference opponent.
“If just play our game to the best of our availabilities, we can beat anybody in this conference any single week,” Allen-Jackman said. “We just need to put the pieces together all at once—offense, defense, special teams—just put it all together.”
Watkins agrees, while also recognizing how important playing in Yager Stadium could be.
“To get back home though, [that] means a lot, you know,” Watkins said. “Especially it being ‘Family Day’ this weekend, and Nebraska-Kearney being a really good team and having a really good last few games that they’ve played. It’ll be a big challenge coming in, but to get them at home will be a big advantage.”
Saturday’s game kicks off at 1 p.m.
