Law enforcement agencies statewide experiencing 911, 311 system outages

UPDATE: Orleans Parish, Tangipahoa Parish, St. Tammany Parish, Washington Parish, Jefferson Parish, St. Bernard Parish, Hancock County and Acadian Ambulance 911 services have been restored

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Several Louisiana law enforcement agencies are currently experiencing outages where they are unable to receive emergency calls.

As of Thursday, Sept. 25, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office, St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office and St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office report that all 911 and non-emergency lines going into the Central Dispatch, are down.

Agencies are saying this is a statewide issue and includes parts of Mississippi.

According to NOPD, the outage is the result of the cutting of a 9-1-1 fiber line.

Anyone with a non-emergency issue is asked no to call to keep the phone traffic down. Currently there is no estimated time of resolution for the outage.
