NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Several Louisiana law enforcement agencies are currently experiencing outages where they are unable to receive emergency calls.
As of Thursday, Sept. 25, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office, St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office and St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office report that all 911 and non-emergency lines going into the Central Dispatch, are down.
Agencies are saying this is a statewide issue and includes parts of Mississippi.
According to NOPD, the outage is the result of the cutting of a 9-1-1 fiber line.
Any resident in need of emergency assistance call the following numbers:
- Hancock County — 228-364-4012 or 228-364-4013 or 228-364-4019
- St. John the Baptist Parish — 985-703-9111
- St. Charles Parish — 504-415-6157, 985-722-0546, 985-722-0864
Anyone with a non-emergency issue is asked no to call to keep the phone traffic down. Currently there is no estimated time of resolution for the outage.
