TRAFFIC ALERT: UTA transport faces delays after fatal FrontRunner collision

ROY, Utah (ABC4) — The FrontRunner train will be experiencing significant delays to a collision between an individual and the train.

According to Gavin Gustafson, with Utah Transit Authority, the incident occurred shortly before 7:20 p.m. near the 4000 S crossing in Roy, Utah. An individual was struck by the Frontrunner train and passed away.

The individual was approximately 200 yards away from the pedestrian crossing when they were struck by the train. Law enforcement has not disclosed the identity of the individual at this time but have noted that this incident appears to have been intentional.

A bus bridge is in effect between Roy and Ogden. However, significant delays are expected throughout the rest of the evening due to the incident.
