According to police, a 17-year-old male faces charges of aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated discharge of firearm and aggravated battery with great bodily harm.
Officers responded shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday to the 900 block of Clarendon Drive for a
report
Upon arrival, officers discovered the woman outside of a parked vehicle suffering from
an apparent gunshot wound and a man attempting to render aid.
Further investigation revealed the shooting happened inside the vehicle.
Police said the woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
According to investigators, a 17-year-old boy, who is an acquaintance of the victim, was
responsible for the shooting and fled the scene on foot prior to the officers’ arrival.
The juvenile was located shortly after by police and arrested.
This was an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the community, police said.
