Sheriff: Brother of man accused in deadly shooting in Darrow arrested
BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Authorities in Ascension Parish arrested a second person in connection with the killing of 18-year-old Ty’Jon Comery.

The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit arrested Charles Ray Jackson Jr., 31, of Darrow, and charged him with one count of accessory after the fact to second-degree murder.

Deputies responded to a reported shooting at a house on Brown Extension Road in Darrow on Thursday, Aug. 28. APSO said Comery was found inside the home with gunshot wounds.

Investigators identified Peyton Jackson, 17, of Darrow, as the shooting suspect. The sheriff’s office said he was previously arrested and charged with second-degree murder, obstruction of justice, and illegal use of weapons.

Further investigation revealed that Peyton Jackson’s brother, Charles Jackson, had allegedly helped him after the shooting. Detectives executed an arrest warrant and booked Charles Jackson into the Ascension Parish Jail on Tuesday.
