Rollover crash along I-290 in Bellwood sparks delays for morning commuters

BELLWOOD, Ill. (WGN) — A rollover crash along the Eisenhower Expressway caused some headaches for drivers during rush hour on Tuesday morning.

The crash, which appeared to have involved four cars, unfolded in the eastbound lanes of I-290, near South 17th Avenue, in Bellwood.

SkyCam 9 was over the scene around 7 a.m. when one of the vehicles involved could be seen resting on its side in the center lane, just in front of a second car, which was sitting partially in the center lane and the far left lane.

Two other cars, which did not appear to be badly damaged, could be seen just in front of the overturned vehicle, also blocking the center lane.

Currently, it is unclear what led to the crash or if anyone was injured.
