Kentucky Senate candidate faces threats, urges political unity

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — One of the newest candidates to enter the U.S. Senate race in Kentucky said he and his family have been threatened since he launched his campaign last week.

In a social media video, Democrat Logan Forsythe said his and his wife’s lives have been threatened, extra school resource officers have been added to his children’s school, and he can no longer practice as an attorney due to the threats made against his clients.

LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS:

Forsythe went on to condemn political violence, saying it has no place in our democracy and that it’s always wrong.

“Guys, we’re better than this. As Americans, as Kentuckians, and just people, we should know that political violence has no place in our democracy. When I was in the Secret Service, I saw and dealt with threats every day—it was a common occurrence. But these threats, they seem to be different.”

Forsythe said we should all come together, calling on all politicians to tone down the hateful rhetoric.
