VILLE PLATTE, La. (KLFY) — A search and seizure occurred at A&A convenience store located at 702 South Chataigner following complaints accusing the business of selling to persons under the age of 21 alcohol, THC Vapes and Kratom on Sept. 18, officials said.

Ali Gharama was arrested and charged with three counts of possession with intent to distribute kratom, one count of possession of a firearm in the presence of CDS and one count of transactions involving proceeds from drug offense, officials said.

During a compliance check of the establishment, officials identified Yafea Salem Ali Al Saadi, Jose Sanchez and Cedrick Wilson as employees. During the compliance inspection, Kratom was located and a narcotic search was requested to further search the establishment.

According to officials, Gharama allegedly identified himself as the store manager and in control of the operations to include ordering of alcohol and Tobacco products, while the owner is allegedly away overseas. Officials said they identified the owner as Mohammed A Hussain.

Officials said an arrest warrant has been requested for the owner identified as Mohammed A Hussain, who at the time was allegedly in Yemen. Hussain is charged with of possession with intent to distribute kratom, possession of a firearm in the presence of CDS and transactions involving proceeds from drug offense.

During the search officials located and seized the following:

• Bryco Arms Model Jennings Nine 9mm Serial 1338950
• 1 bottle Za-Za Red Extra Strength 15 Capsules
• Remarkable Herbs Maeng Da Kratom 8 oz Powder
• 2 packages of Malay Kratom 240 Capsules- 144 grams (all natural [silver packaging])
• 2 packages of red vein Maeng Da Kratom 60 Capsules- 36 grams (all natural [silver packaging])
• Viva Zen with Kratom Gummies 2.29 oz (10 gummies)
• 4 packages of Maeng Da Premium Quality Tri Sprout Kratom White Vein (Free Capsules) 5 Capsules per pack
• 3 packages of Maeng Da Premium Quality Tri Sprout Kratom Greenview 5 capsules per pack
• 2 packages of Bali Premium Quality Tri Sprout Kratom Red View 5 Capsules per pack
• $7,398 in cash
