17-year-old killed in shooting on Churchill Street in Jackson

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police are investigating after a 17-year-old was shot and killed.

The shooting occurred in the 4800 block of Churchill Street on September 24, 2025.

Interim Jackson Police Chief and Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones said the unidentified teen was shot at the location and transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) by a private vehicle.

The teen died from his injuries. Jones said there is no suspect information at this time.
