Two charged, one wanted in Adams County copper wire theft case

ADAMS COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Adams County deputies announced two people were charged and a third is wanted in connection to a copper wire theft case.

On May 12, 2025, deputies responded to the 700 block of U.S. 61 North regarding the theft of copper wire. They said 400 feet of wire and multiple fiber lines, with an estimated value of $2,800, had been stolen.

During the investigation, Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said deputies reviewed surveillance video from a nearby business, which showed three suspects. He said a further investigation linked the suspects to the transportation and sale of stolen copper wire at recycling facilities in the region.

On September 15, 2025, Adams and Hinds County deputies made contact with multiple suspects at a Jackson home. At the scene, Patten said investigators observed evidence consistent with copper wire theft, including burned casings and freshly stripped wire.

Patten said one suspect, who was identified as George Hayley, of Jackson, admitted to involvement and detailed how he, along with David Glaze and Regina Blair Glaze, traveled to Natchez to steal copper wire before transporting it back to Jackson to burn and sell.

Hayley was charged with possession of stolen property, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and additional offenses. He is being held at the Hinds County Sheriff’s Office and will be transported to Adams County to face grand larceny charges.

Regina Blair Glaze is being held at the Adams County Sheriff’s Office on a $25,000 bond.

Patten said David Glaze ran away from the scene as deputies arrived, leaving his disabled wife behind. He is wanted by the Adams County Sheriff’s Office for grand larceny. Anyone with information on his whereabouts can contact the Hinds County Sheriff’s Office at (601) 974-2900, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office at (601) 442-2752, Southwest Mississippi Crime Stoppers at 1-888-442-5001 or 911.
