PROVO, Utah (ABC4) — Multiple southbound and northbound I-15 lanes are facing lane closures near milepost 266 in Provo, due to a crash and concrete debris.
According to the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), all southbound lanes were briefly closed on I-15. Additionally, the two left lanes were closed on I-15 northbound, but only the furthest left lane remains closed. All but the furthest right southbound lane has been reopened.
The closures are in place near milepost 266 on I-15, which is near Center Street in Provo.
According to Lieutenant Cameron Roden, a truck hauling concrete lost control on I-15 northbound. The truck spun around and hit the center barrier, getting stuck.
Additionally, the concrete went over the barrier and spilled across multiple lanes on southbound I-15. Approximately 15 vehicles were hit by the concrete, leading to damage and flat tires.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported. However, Lieutenant Roden says the affected vehicles are stuck on scene and will need to be towed. Additionally, the concrete will need to be cleaned up. In the meantime, the area may experience residual delays.
