Developed by the team behind Security organization Spearbit, Cantina aims to make high-impact security services more scalable while maintaining the quality standards associated with its founding organization. As shared by Cantina in July 2025, the platform is now working with Coinbase Ventures to offer discounted services for projects building on Coinbase. These benefits include a 10% discount on security solutions and free bug bounty testing.

A platform bridging decentralized infrastructure with AI-enhanced security

Cantina describes itself as a platform positioned at the intersection of decentralized infrastructure and applied AI. According to the project, its model pairs independent researchers with project teams in a collaborative approach aimed at improving blockchain security. As more blockchain protocols incorporate automated threat detection and AI-assisted analysis, Cantina’s platform is designed to help coordinate researcher input with AI-informed tools. This structure can contribute to more iterative and precise security processes.

Leadership rooted in Ethereum development and smart contract innovation

The platform is co-founded by Harikrishnan “Hari” Mulackal, who also serves as CEO. According to his LinkedIn profile, Hari previously worked on the Solidity programming language at the Ethereum Foundation and has been building in the blockchain space since at least 2021. He is also the co-founder and CEO of Spearbit, which launched Cantina as a scalable complement to its audit and review services. He is joined by co-founder and CTO Alex Beregszaszi, a longtime contributor to the Ethereum ecosystem. Alex previously led the development of the Solidity language and served as the team lead for Ethereum’s EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) at the Ethereum Foundation.
