Teen girl hospitalized after hit by truck in Windsor crosswalk
The Windsor Police Department responded around 7:22 p.m. to the area of Old Redwood Highway and Thrushwing Avenue on the report of a pedestrian injured by a vehicle. Emergency crews found the victim, a 15-year-old girl, and rushed her to a local hospital. It was determined that she had fractured her pelvis and both feet, and suffered injuries to her body, face and head, according to police.
The girl was later airlifted to the University of California, Davis Medical Center. She was last listed in stable condition, police said Saturday.
Crash investigators determined that the girl had been crossing the roadway inside a crosswalk when she was struck by a Toyota Tacoma. The driver of the truck remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, according to police.
“At this time, neither alcohol nor drugs appear to be factors in the collision,” Windsor PD said.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or has additional information is asked to contact the Windsor Police Department at 707-838-1234.
