The East Windsor Police Department states that officers found a man lying in the roadway on Rye Street around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday. The man was identified as 27-year-old Jared Charette.
A preliminary investigation revealed that he was driving a pickup truck when it left the road, went over a guardrail, and hit a utility pole, throwing him out of the truck. When officers found him, he had multiple injuries and was unconscious. Charette died as a result of the crash.
Rye Street was closed between Ellsworth Road and Plantation Road while crews worked on the accident.
