SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — TED talks on climate change are coming to Utah’s capitol city Monday.

On Sept. 22, 2025, at 6 p.m., speakers will take the stage at the Capitol Theatre in downtown Salt Lake City to address climate change.

TEDxSaltLakeCity was recently selected by TED to be one of 18 “Countdown Anchor Events” across the globe, aimed at accelerating climate solutions.

“Utah’s amazing landscape not only draws millions of outdoor recreationalists from all over the world, it supports multiple industries and generates millions of dollars,” Jennafer Martin, TEDxSaltLakeCity’s lead organizer, said.

TEDxSaltLakeCity says this year’s event will offer a lineup of immersive experiences and interactive activation, as speakers discuss solutions to the climate crisis. The event will feature entrepreneurs, scientists, and creatives.

The event lists a runtime of about 180 minutes with a brief, 20-minute intermission. Speakers aim to foster discussions about solutions to crisis involving climate change.

“Positioned at the heart of a rapidly changing environment, at the crossroads of climate impact, industrial innovation, and a growing population, the city is uniquely equipped to lead the fight against the climate crisis,” TEDxSaltLakeCity said in a press release.

“As the capital of Utah, Salt Lake City is at the center of innovative solutions for this landscape, including conservation, agriculture, clean energy, inventing new materials, and more,” Martin added.
