Mothman statue ranked among America's ugliest public art: Do you agree?
In a new survey conducted by Rivers Art, a fine art printing shop, the statue of West Virginia’s most famous cryptid was ranked as the 55th-ugliest piece of modern art in the U.S.
The survey polled 2,000 Americans, who noted that while the statue “draws crowds and connects with a local legend, its shiny, jagged metal surface and monstrous proportions make it look more like a horror prop than civic art.” Those surveyed added that the exaggerated features give the statue a “campy, unattractive presence in the town square.”
