ATCEMS: One person dead after drowning on Lake Travis

AUSTIN (KXAN) — One person is dead after medics attempted to resuscitate a swimmer on Lake Travis on Sunday afternoon, Austin-Travis County EMS said.

ATCEMS posted on X at around 6:23 p.m., medics responded to 6100 Bob Wentz Park Road, near Bob Wentz Park, which is on Lake Travis, for a water rescue.

One adult swimmer was pulled from the water after being “submerged for an unknown time” and received CPR, ATCEMS said.

In an update at 7:30 p.m., medics said the patient was pronounced dead on scene after “extensive resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful.”
