
The company’s CEO, Dinero’ Washington, made the announcement during a conference in Boston with more than 2,500 transit leaders in attendance. According to the company’s Facebook, Washington shared how autonomous vehicles are moving from test projects to service across the U.S.
Washington also announced that SporTran will start a trial for its autonomous vehicle service in 2026.
The company recently announced the launch of a new bus tracking app called “Where’s My Bus?” The app enhances riders’ experience by providing real-time GPS tracking, accurate arrival times, trip planning, and instant service alerts. Washington said the app is more than just catching a bus. It’s about moving people forward, connecting communities, and making every ride seamless.
SporTran’s Facebook page said they’re proud to see Shreveport’s voice represented on the national stage while building the future of mobility right here at home. There is no information available on the exact timeline for the launch of the autonomous vehicle service.
