Eight Wiley programs earned recognition as NAIA Scholar Teams for the 2024-2025 academic year.
Director of Athletics Rafael Gonzalez said, “I’m very proud of our athletic programs and coaches. This shows how much pride we have in our academics. I hope this remains the expectation for the athletic department.”
The volleyball team posted the highest GPA, 3.69. Two players held a 4.0 for the entire year, while 16 athletes maintained a 3.0 or higher. This is the eighth year the team has been recognized in nine years.
The women’s basketball team was recognized for the seventh time in eight years. Twelve of thirteen players maintained a 3.0 or higher, and two maintained a 4.0 for a 3.49 cumulative GPA.
Men’s soccer achieved recognition for the first time since the team was reinstated in 2023 with a 3.37 cumulative GPA. 31 players held at least a 3.0, and eight kept a 4.0.
Women’s soccer received the recognition for the first time with a collective 3.32 GPA. Fourteen athletes maintained a 3.0.
Women’s cross country earned the award for the fourth time, the first since 2017, and women’s track and field were honored for the 7th time in 10 seasons.
