Texas A&M Texarkana teams honored for academic achievement

TEXARKANA, Texas (KTAL/KMSS) — The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has recognized 13 Texas A&M University Texarkana (TAMUT) athletic teams as 2024-25 Scholar Teams.

The honor goes to teams that achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Teams recognized include:

Men’s Tennis – 3.67 cumulative GPA
Softball – 3.60 GPA
Women’s Beach Volleyball – 3.60 GPA
Women’s Tennis – 3.53 GPA
Women’s Volleyball – 3.42 GPA
Men’s Soccer – 3.41 GPA
Women’s Soccer – 3.39 GPA
Competitive Dance – 3.37 GPA
Women’s Basketball – 3.31 GPA
Baseball – 3.29 GPA
Competitive Cheer – 3.26 GPA
Men’s Cross Country – 3.21 GPA
Women’s Cross Country – 3.20 GPA

TAMUT Director of Athletics, Ryan Wall, said, “We are extremely proud of our student-athletes and coaches for earning this recognition.”

“Having 13 of our programs named NAIA Scholar-Teams shows the commitment our athletes make to excellence both on the field and in the classroom. Their dedication to academics reflects the culture we are building at A&M–Texarkana as we continue to grow and transition into NCAA Division II.”
