
SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — I-15 Southbound at 2300 North in Salt Lake City is closed with all lanes blocked due to a fatal crash.
According to UDOT traffic, the closure is located near Mile Point 311, and the entry ramp is also closed. All traffic is being diverted off to I-215.
According to Utah Highway Patrol, a male driver hit debris in the road, and that is what caused the crash. His was the only vehicle involved, and he was killed in the crash. Utah Highway Patrol was not able to say what the debris was.
UDOT warned drivers to prepare for delays and heavier traffic between the closure point and West Bountiful.
The crash is expected to be cleared by 11:30 p.m. tonight. A crash reconstruction team is on scene in order to investigate the crash.
