Pink Out: Win free groceries at SPAR Youth Fun Day, breast cancer awareness event

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Join the community for a day of fun and competition, and you could go home the lucky winner of several door prizes.

Shreveport Parks and Recreation (SPAR) will be hosting a community pink-out event for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Participants will take part in a series of basketball games and activities for the chance to take home prizes, including the chance to win a $100 Brookshire’s gift card.

The event will take place on October 18, 2025, and is open to students from grades four through 12.

Check-in will begin at 10 a.m., with challenges and games running from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The department says the event is made possible with the support of sponsors including Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation, Brookshire’s Grocery-Kings Hwy, and Raising Cane’s.

To register, be sure to sign up online.

Participants are encouraged to wear pink to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
