POTOMAC, Md. (DC News Now) — Fire crews found elevated carbon monoxide levels in a single-family home in Potomac after what was originally reported as an electrical fire.

In a post on the X platform just after 2:30 p.m., Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) Spokesperson Pete Piringer said that crews were in the 8600 block of Wild Olive Dr. for an electrical fire in the basement.

In an update shortly afterwards, Piringer said that responding units found smoke and elevated carbon monoxide levels in the basement.

Firefighters found a charred electrical panel and said that the fire had no extension.

Two adults were evaluated at the scene but did not want to be transported to the hospital.
