Grab 50-cent McDonald’s cheeseburgers and more deals for National Cheeseburger Day

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – September 18, 2025, marks National Cheeseburger Day, and you just may be able to skip out on cooking dinner tonight.

Here is a list of places you can grab the best deal for your burger right here in the Shreveport-Bossier area, with some deals even lasting longer than one day.

McDonald’s – Corporate McDonald’s revealed you can “double the fun” by getting a double cheeseburger for just 50 cents. Must order through the McDonald’s app.

The company also says they will continue “Free Fry Fridays,” where customers can get free medium Fries with any $1 minimum purchase. 

Dairy Queen – DQ put out a statement, ” In celebration of National Cheeseburger Day, DQ is offering fans a free Double Original Cheeseburger Stackburger with any app or online order of $1 or more.” This deal will run through Sep 19, 2025, and customers must be a registered DQ rewards member to redeem.

Whataburger – The burger giant mentioned via X, customers can receive a free fries or rings of any size when you grab a bacon and cheese Whataburger, must be ordered on the app.

You can also win a chance to win free Whataburger for a year with their National Cheeseburger Day deal.

Releasing the details in an online press release, the company says “On Sept. 18, Whataburger Rewards Members Who Order a Patty Melt, Sweet & Spicy Bacon Burger or Whataburger with Cheese Online Will Be Entered for a Chance to Win Free Whataburger for a Year.”

100 winners will be selected for the prize.

Checkers and Rally’s – Checkers announced in an energetic video that you can receive a Big Buford for just $3 through September 18.

This deal will not apply to their viral collaboration meals with rap artist Glorilla.
