Louisiana AG: Mississippi couple lied about residence, took $59K in Medicaid funds
BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A Mississippi couple has been accused of defrauding Louisiana’s Medicaid program of more than $59,000.
Attorney General Liz Murrill said Johnathan and Janice Fore, both Medicaid recipients, hid their place of residence and other details to keep receiving benefits.

Louisiana Bureau of Investigation (LBI) agents found that the couple had moved to Mississippi about three years ago but failed to report it. Murrill said that from September 2023 to June 2025, they allegedly gave false information to continue receiving Medicaid.
The Fores were arrested Sept. 16 in Magnolia, Mississippi, and later extradited to Louisiana. They were booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and charged with relative to government benefits fraud and filing or maintaining false public records.

Bond information was not released. The investigation is ongoing.
The couple had previously been arrested by Livingston Parish deputies in connection with the death of Brendan Harrell, after an altercation between the three ended with Jonothan allegedly running Harrell over with a car.
