Louisiana couple defrauds Medicaid of $127K to help pay for BMW, plastic surgery
BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A Shreveport couple was arrested after being accused of committing government benefits fraud.
According to the Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill, the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation (LBI) received criminal claims from the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) that Ebony Taylor, 42, and Andre Jackson, 39, concealed their true income and employment status to get Medicaid benefits.
LBI found that Taylor applied for Medicaid benefits for herself and her dependents from 2017 to 2025. In her applications, she reported a bi-weekly income of $750 and withheld her marital status with Jackson. In the same period, Jackson applied for benefits and reported no income from 2017 to 2023.
An investigation revealed that the pair owned multiple properties and had several financial assets, including a one-acre tract of land in Caddo Parish where they built a home. Parish tax records show the property is valued at $656,270. In a mortgage loan application, Taylor reported a monthly income of $15,000 and disclosed a bank account with a balance of $350,000. Investigators learned that the two own numerous tracts of property in Caddo Parish.

In 2022, Taylor financed a 2023 BMW for $80,000 with monthly payments of $1,480. They also used money obtained from Medicaid benefits to install an in-ground pool with a jetted spa at their residence, jewelry, vacations, hotels, furniture, and cosmetic surgery.
As of March 2025, Jackson and Taylor defrauded the Medicaid program for about $127,000.
“It’s pretty bold to buy a new pool, BMW, and plastic surgery while defrauding our Medicaid program. The hardworking men and women of Louisiana paid for their extravagant lifestyle, and now they’ll be brought to justice,” said Murrill.
No bond has been set for either suspect at this time. This is an ongoing investigation.
