BOGALUSA, La. (WGNO) — Multiple Louisiana winners took home money from the $1.78 billion Powerball, including a $50,000 ticket claimed Monday, Sept. 8.
According to the Louisiana Lottery, James Creel of Bogalusa claimed his prize in Baton Rouge for the Sept. 6 Powerball. The winning numbers were 11-23-44-61-62, with the red Powerball number being 17.
Creel said he initially stopped at his usual retailer but left when he saw the checkout line was too long. Instead, he purchased a quick pick ticket at JR. Food Mart on Highway 25 and Highway 40 in Folsom. That ticket made him $50,000 richer.
